For our October meeting we've got quite a treat in store. We're going to hear from Dr. Nicholas Money, professor at the University of Miami OH, and author of numerous books on science such as Mr. Bloomfield's Orchard, The Amoeba in the Room, and his latest work The Rise of Yeast: How the Sugar Fungus Shaped Civilization.
This is going to be an outstanding evening as Dr. Money tells us about the history of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, the brewer's yeast, in a lecture titled 'The Rise Of Yeast & The Fall Of Man'. Honestly, if that title doesn't hook you, I don't know what will. Come join us for what's sure to be a memorable, entertaining evening with Dr. Money.
And as if that weren't enough, we'll also hear a short program from the folks sponsoring Initiative 81, which hopes to decriminalize certain plants and fungi in the District on election day.
We'll be virtual again this month, via Zoom. Here are the login credentials, including passcode should you need it.
