In this engaging talk\, Dawn will demystify how chemicals can enhance your everyday mushroom hunts. Discover how common reagents such as ammonia and potassium hydroxide can be used to observe reactions in different parts of a fungus’s fruiting body\, bringing you one step closer to accurate identification. Which mushroom families are most likely to react? Where can you obtain these reagents? Dawn will answer these questions and more during her presentation. You won’t want to miss it!\n   \n\n\n        * Bio:  Dawn Wehman joined the Western Pennsylvania Mushroom Club in the summer of 2021 and quickly immersed herself in the mycological community. After attending her first Sequanota in 2023\, she became a member of Mycological Association of Washington\, D.C.\, inspired by the warm welcome and camaraderie she found there. She currently serves as Membership Chairperson for the Western Pennsylvania Mushroom Club\, is a Lincoff Foray Chairperson (2024–2026) and became a WPMC Club Identifier in 2023 and is also a member of the West Virginia Mushroom Club\, the Central Pennsylvania Mushroom Club\, and the Ohio Mushroom Society—because she simply loves attending forays and learning as mush as she can!
