MAW welcomes, and looks forward to having, Patrick Leacock PhD as the guest speaker for our July meeting.  Patrick is one of the top mycologists in the country, with a keen interest in macrofungi — the mushrooms, boletes, polypores, and other visible fungi that fruit above the ground.

Patrick's talk will focus on Chanterelles, and the discovery of new species.  Chanterelles (Cantharellus) are prized edible mushrooms. Ongoing research steadily uncovers new species around the world. Dr. Leacock will provide an overview on chanterelles in the USA, and discuss the process of documenting cryptic species.
