Hello everyone - Just on the heels of an outstanding weekend at Camp Sequanota in the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania, MAWDC will return to the Keystone state again this upcoming weekend for another in-person event. This time we'll enjoy a morning joint foray with the Eastern PA Mush Club before moving onto the Kennett Square mushroom festival, and a fun(gi) will be had by all!
Kennett Square Pennsylvania has long been the largest commercial producer of mushrooms, and for the past 40 years they've hosted an annual mushroom festival to celebrate their prized crop. All manner of mushroom themed products and food are available at this street fair, as well as exhibits hosted by the local commercial growers. Please find additional information about the festival at mushroomfestival.org
Our joint foray with the EPMC will take place at Ridley Creek State Park, a short drive from the festival, where we'll meet at picnic area 9 at 10 am on Saturday September 6th. Here's a link to the park map to aid you in your travels. After the foray it's off to the festival!
Warm regards, and hope to see you there!
Tom McCoy

PSS: Longwood Gardens is considered one of the best botanical gardens in the world, and it's located in the same general vicinity as the festival. You may want to consider including it in your weekend plans - but be warned it's quite large, and takes several hours to experience it in full.
