Identification Walk at Bacon Ridge Natural Area

Crownsville, MD

Saturday, August 29 @ 10am - 12:30pm

Foray Leader: Tom Moore

This walk will explore some of the fungi in the Bacon Ridge Natural Area, a fabulous tract of 1000+ acres of mature forests located in Anne Arundel County. We'll likely see amanitas, boletes, black trumpets, russulas, lactarius and more. This is an identification-only walk.

We'll meet at the Hawkins Road entrance, where there is ample parking along the road. (There are several Bacon Ridge entrances — make sure you're headed to the right one!)

We'll walk for 1.5 miles along Andiron Trail, which is moderately hilly in places. There is a portable restroom at the trailhead. In a few stretches of the trail, we may not have a cell phone signal.

See the destination here: Apple Maps or Google Maps.
